About the Grant

The Warren Finch Classroom Grant is awarded by Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union in honor of Mr. Finch's years of credit union membership, distinguished leadership and dedication to the goals of the Credit Union and commitment to effective education. He was elected to the NSFCU Board of Directors in 1980 and served as the Board Chair from 1983 to 1996. During his 21 years of employment with the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, Mr. Finch was a Teacher, a Principal and Director of Vocational Education.

The Warren Finch Classroom Grant provides supplemental classroom funding to encourage and foster innovation in teaching business or financial life skills to students. All teachers who are members of Spirit of Alaska FCU may apply for up to $500*. Simply complete the application and the essay. Multiple grants are available for each fall and spring semester.   • Complete application form
  • Number of students impacted
  • Likelihood of students implementing knowledge
  • Value of knowledge relating to life skills
  • Degree of innovation in using the grant

You must be a member of Spirit of Alaska FCU for your application to be considered.

Fall Semester Disbursement - April 30th
Spring Semester Disbursement - December 31st

*Grant disbursements will be paid directly to vendor or reimbursed to teacher for approved expenses. Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of grants awarded at anytime. Grants awarded are based on the above criteria and are at the sole discretion of the Warren Finch Classroom Grant selection committee, comprised of Board and Staff members.
