Q:How do I report my card lost or stolen?
A: To report a lost or stolen Visa credit card please call 1-866-875-6807 24-hours a day 7 days a week.
Q:How can I apply for a credit card?
A:You can apply for a credit card by filling out our online application or by coming into one of the branches and filling one out.
Q:How can I qualify for a credit card?
A:It is based on your overall credit worthiness and ability to repay the debt.
Q:What are the interest rates, costs and fees associated with Spirit of Alaska’s credit cards?

Q:What are the differences between Classic and Platinum?
A:The Platinum card has a variable interest rate that is tied to Prime Rate while the Classic card has a fixed interest rate.
Q: The numbers on my credit or debit card are flat. Is my card usable?
A: Yes! Spirit of Alaska issues unembossed credit and debit cards as a convenience to our members. This way we can customize your cards with a personal photo, plus you don't have to wait for it in the mail. Visa unembossed cards are accepted by most Visa merchants, with the exception of those who require a manual imprint at the point of sale such as with an old-style “zip-zap” machine, and can be used for purchases made online, by mail or by phone. Q:Can I enroll for credit insurance protections?
A:Yes, however there are health and age limitations. Please review CUNA Mutual’s enrollment form.
Q:When is my payment due?
A:The credit card has a 28-day grace period so the payment will be due 28 days from the statement date.
Q:When should I receive my statement?
A:Spirit of Alaska’s statement vendor generally mails your statement the first week of every month.
Q:How can I access my credit card on line?
A:You can access your account online but you need be signed up for Spirit of Alaska’s E-Teller service.
Q:Can I choose my own PIN?
A:Yes, bring your credit card into one of the branches and we can help you with customizing your PIN.
Q:How do I customize the face of my credit card?
A:From the Spirit of Alaska website click on the Instant Issue Cards link on the left hand side and follow the instructions to customize your card.

Q:What is Verified by Visa?
A:Verified by VISA is designed to protect online shoppers, as well as reduce identity theft for all cardholders by allowing cardholders to add a personal password to their existing card. When making a purchase with a participating online merchant, the cardholder will validate their identity by entering a password in a special Verified by VISA window. Look for the symbol that identifies participating online merchants. In stores that are not yet participating in Verified by VISA your VISA card will continue to work as usual. Go to www.visa.com/verified for a list of participating merchants and to activate your VISA card. You will be guided through steps to create your personal password. To further help protect members from online fraud, Spirit of Alaska FCU requires card holders to participate if the merchant is a participant in Verified by VISA.
Q:Can I get the annual fee waived?
A:Yes, by opening and maintaining a Spirit of Alaska checking account you will not incur an annual fee.
Q:How do I transfer a balance with my credit card?
A:Please bring the credit card statement of the card you wish to payoff into the Consumer Lending department at Gillam. Lending personnel can assist in making the transfer for you.
