How does Bill Pay-e work?

Bill Pay-e is designed to free you from the mundane, time-consuming chore of paying bills by check or money order. No more buying stamps, no more writing paper checks, no more wondering if your payment was delivered on time - with Bill Pay-e it is all done with the click of a mouse.

As a subscriber for Bill Pay-e, (enrolled member) you will log on to Bill Pay-e directly from E-teller. Simply click the Bill Pay-e link on our main menu. This will route subscribers directly to the Web Billing and Payment application that runs on a secure server at CheckFree. You will enter your Personal Security Code (PSC issued by CheckFree and maintained by the enrolled member) to establish a list of payees or choose from a menu of standard payees. Once your payee is established, you can literally pay everyone from the paper carrier to your mortgage company, all in just a few minutes and with a few simple mouse clicks. Sound to easy? That's the whole point!

After CheckFree authenticates the Subscriber (enrolled member) at login, all data is exchanged in real time from the CheckFree server. This allows you to have the most current information and enables Customer Care immediate access to information submitted by you for support purposes. Once connected to Bill Pay-e members may request, receive, and submit information directly from the CheckFree server. CheckFree uses batch sweeps throughout the day and you may send payment instructions up to 4:00 PM Alaska time to begin processing that night.

How are my payments processed and when will by account be debited?

CheckFree has developed several remittance methods and at CheckFree's discretion your payment will be processed as an electronic ACH (automated clearing house) or laser draft. With an electronic ACH your account is debited the day your payment is credited to your payee. You will know your payment has been processed as a laser draft and posted to the payee when it clears your account, just like any other draft you may issue to a payee.

You need to schedule your payment a minimum of 4 days prior to the payment date. You should also keep in mind that when laser drafts are mailed CheckFree cannot be responsible for post office delays. CheckFree does expect the payee to receive the remittance on the payment date, however, the cannot guarantee the payee will post the payment on the day of receipt. You may also send a FAX to (727) 570-5219 in the event you may need to cancel a payment before it processes.
